Rowlands Pharmacy in Dumfries is seeking a Pharmacist to join our community-focused team. We welcome newly qualified applicants. The branch operates with a dedicated ACT manager and experienced staff to provide NHS services, private prescriptions, and health promotions.

The role involves dispensing, counselling, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care in a busy community setting.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Proven experience in a community pharmacy setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines
• Provide medication counselling and support to patients, answering questions and addressing concerns
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
• Conduct medication reviews and ensure safe and effective medication management
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage pharmacy inventory
• Provide immunization services (where applicable)
• Advise on over-the-counter medications and healthcare products
• Participate in health promotion and public health initiatives

Working Hours: Average of 43 hours per week

Week 1 - Monday to Friday 09:00 - 18:00

Week 2 - Monday to Saturday with a mid week day off

Rowlands Pharmacy is seeking a talented and experienced pharmacist to join our team in the Dumfries Branch. As a reputable and community oriented pharmacy chain, we are committed to providing the highest standard of care to our patients. This branch is staffed with an experienced team including an ACT manager, 6 HCP level trainedproviding an excellent service to the local community in a remote large town. Currently dispensing around 5,000 items per month, this is a relatively quietbranch. As well as providing a variety of services, such as NHS services, Private Flu, weight management etc, this branch also utilises our Medipac robotic distribution technology. This frees up your time to provide the care our patients deserve.
