Job summary

Buchanhaven Pharmacy Ltd in Inverness is seeking a Contract Pharmacist to join our busy community pharmacy team on-site. You will dispense and check prescriptions, provide clinical advice, and support NHS and private pharmacy services to deliver high-quality patient care.

The role involves maintaining regulatory standards, contributing to medicines management, and mentoring pharmacy colleagues to sustain a safe, efficient and patient-focused service within the local community.

Qualifications

• Completed MPharm degree or equivalent and registration (or eligibility for registration) with the GPhC.
• Proven experience in community pharmacy practice, including dispensing, accuracy checking, and clinical screening of prescriptions.
• Strong knowledge of medicines, therapeutic areas, and current clinical guidelines relevant to primary care.
• Ability to provide clear, empathetic patient counseling and excellent communication with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
• Skills in prioritizing workload, maintaining attention to detail, and working safely under pressure in a busy environment.
• Commitment to patient safety, governance, and adherence to all regulatory, legal, and professional standards.
• Collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary team and supporting pharmacy staff.
• Comfort with using pharmacy IT systems and maintaining accurate, confidential records.
• Flexibility to adapt to evolving services and a proactive interest in service development and continuous improvement.
