Job summary

UPS, through Polar Speed Distribution Limited in Birmingham, is seeking a HGV Class 2 Driver to perform daily deliveries and collections to GP surgeries, pharmacies, hospitals and wholesalers. You will manage temperature-controlled transport, perform loading/unloading duties, and maintain high levels of customer service.

The role is permanent, requires CPC and Class 2 licence, and typically involves 40 hours per week with some flexibility for extra hours to meet urgent medical needs.

• Ability to work as part of a team and also on your own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Manage scanning of packages or pallets to delivery vehicle.
• Ensure safe and secure loading of consignments.
• Assist with loading/unloading deliveries using appropriate equipment.
• Maintain correct temperature of the vehicle.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks including refrigeration unit.
• Keep cab and chambers clean and report defects.
