Job summary

IPS is seeking a Head of Civil and Structural to lead facility design services for pharmaceutical manufacturing and operational processes in Birmingham, UK. The role involves defining design philosophies, coordinating with project managers, and ensuring regulatory compliance and successful project delivery.

You will oversee master planning, scope development, and budget management while mentoring design staff and advancing IPS standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture (RIBA registered) and license preferred.
• Significant experience as a Project Architect with accountability for projects.
• Extensive architectural design experience in pharma, biotech or lab sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead master planning and design philosophies for facility projects.
• Define design parameters and oversee project scope, budget and staffing.
• Prepare scopes of work for architectural design and coordinate with clients.
• Review progress and alert on scope changes or extra services.
• Coordinate document completion with clients and consultants.
• Develop and review construction budgets based on scope and experience.
