Job summary

King's College London is seeking a Postgraduate Research (PGR) Manager to lead PGR administration across the DPSoL and School, ensuring high standards for academic quality and student experience. The role includes line management of a Senior Research Operations Officer, budget monitoring, and developing PGR policies and processes in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• First degree or other appropriate qualifications.
• Substantial prior work experience in higher education administration supporting students.
• Extensive experience of using student systems and student record databases and following/understanding student procedures and regulations.
• Experience of and the ability to provide concise and clear guidance to different audiences using existing policies and procedures.
• Ability to make decisions, prioritise and plan workload across different areas, meet deadlines and use initiative to identify and suggest changes/improvements.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills and proven ability to build working relationships with others across an organisation.
• Ability to handle matters requiring sensitivity and a high level of confidentiality.
• Excellent IT skills (including MS Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Word)

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and support to PGR students and staff across the school.
• Line manage a Senior Research Operations Officer and oversee PGR administration.
• Develop policies and processes to enhance student experience and monitor key milestones.
• Coordinate PGR events, training programmes and budgets.
• Monitor PGR admissions and staff recruitment to support planning and decision-making.
