Job summary

Morson is recruiting an experienced Electrical Technician to join Spirit Energy’s maintenance team at its Barrow Terminal. The role involves hands‑on electrical maintenance, defect investigation and ensuring safe operation of gas production plant and condensate storage.

Applicants should have oil and gas experience, CompEx certification and a strong understanding of petrochemical plant maintenance. This is a safety‑critical role with opportunities to support commissioning and modifications.

Qualifications

• Must have petrochemical process operations or maintenance experience.
• Current CompEx certification and related electrical discipline knowledge.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering and maintenance principles.
• Experience with permit-to-work systems and electrical isolations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and non‑routine electrical maintenance on operational plant and equipment.
• Diagnose complex technical faults affecting critical plant and identify suitable solutions to restore normal operation.
• Undertake defect repairs in accordance with approved procedures and operational requirements.
• Carry out Power Technician duties and, when suitably qualified, act as SAEP or REP.
• Support the commissioning and decommissioning of plant and equipment.
• Contribute to the design, implementation and commissioning of plant modifications.
• Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate maintenance records for operational, analytical and audit purposes.
• Ensure appropriate permits, isolations and safe systems of work are in place before maintenance activities begin.
• Supervise employees, vendors and contractor personnel undertaking specific work activities.
• Ensure work is completed safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Work closely with Electrical, Mechanical and Instrument Technicians, the E&I Team Lead and operational teams.
• Perform nominated emergency‑response duties and maintain the required competencies.
• Promote high standards of health, safety, environmental and process‑safety performance.
