Blue Cross in Hertfordshire is seeking a Pet Welfare Assistant for our Rehoming & Fostering team. The role focuses on on-site animal care, assessments, and rehabilitation plans to prepare pets for adoption or alternative outcomes. You will work with the Adoptions Coordinator and maintain records for owners and carers.

This part-time? No, it is a part-time role? The advert shows 30 hours per week on a two-week rota with weekend/holiday shifts, and on-site accommodation for pets.

Qualifications

• Experience of having previously worked or volunteered with domestic animals or in an animal welfare environment.
• Previous experience in working in a customer focused environment and used to achieving a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisational and administration skills to include computerised systems.
• Current full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Care, handle and assess pets in our care, contributing to rehabilitation plans.
• Prepare pets for the adoption stage or other outcomes with minimal delay.
• Record information accurately and liaise with owners and carers.
• Provide in-person or virtual advice alongside the Adoptions Coordinator to ensure adopters are informed.
