Job summary

INSPIRED Pet Nutrition is seeking a Machine Operative to join the Extruder department at our Thirsk manufacturing site. You will be responsible for the extrusion of dog, cat, and small animal kibble, ensuring adherence to recipes, weights, and specifications.

Training will be provided for line running and safe working practices. The role requires forklift experience (FLT/counterbalance) and the ability to perform manual handling up to 25 kg.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role within manufacturing.
• FLT / Counter balance experience desirable; training provided.
• Must live within 30 miles of YO7 3HE and have own transport.
• Able to lift up to 25 kg; manual handling capability.
• Good literacy and numeracy; clear English communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion processes to produce dry kibble for dogs, cats and small animals.
• Carry out pre-start checks and maintain food safety standards.
• Report production issues to Team Leader and ensure quality at every stage.
• Work shifts on a 48-hour weekly schedule with occasional overtime.
