Job summary

INSPIRED Pet Nutrition is seeking a Machine Operative for the Extruder department at our site near Thirsk, North Yorkshire. You will operate extrusion lines to produce dog, cat and small animal kibble, with training provided to run the line independently.

The role follows a four-week shift cycle with day and night patterns, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency. Competitive pay and on-site facilities are included.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role within Manufacturing.
• Live within 30 mile radius of YO7 3HE and have your own transport.
• Good literacy and numerical skills in English.
• Capable of manual handling up to 25 kg.
• Food Hygiene Accreditation - desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion of animal foods (dog, cat, small companion animals) to spec.
• Blend, mix and cook raw materials per nutritionally formulated recipe.
• Ensure kibble meets size, shape and weight specifications.
• Complete pre-start checks and follow safe working practices.
• Carry out hourly production checks and escalate issues to the Team Leader.
