Job summary

CVS Vets’ Newnham Court Veterinary Hospital in Maidstone is hiring a Veterinary Patient Care Assistant to join a busy veterinary team. You will support RVNs and Vets, providing nursing care, animal restraint, and daily patient care in a fast-paced practice.

The role is permanent, 35 hours per week, with a varied shift pattern from Monday to Sunday. A competitive reward package and staff discounts are included, alongside opportunities to progress within CVS Vets.

Qualifications

• Experience in animal care and handling.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to handle emotional situations.

Responsibilities

• Providing nursing care to our patients
• Assisting Vets and Nurses with animal restraint
• Walking, feeding, and cleaning patients
• Preparing emergency and operating facilities
• Performing general cleaning and maintenance
• Running internal lab samples
• Answering emergency calls
• Supporting the reception team when needed, including booking appointments and processing payments
