Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Radiographer or Technologist to join our Static PET-CT service in Ashford, Kent for a PET-CT Radiographer post. This role will allow you to develop in various aspects of your clinical and administrative skills.

The unit currently operates up to six days a week to provide PET-CT services to the Kent region.

We are a growing and supportive unit with a busy PET/CT service, with further plans to increase our services.

We are rated Good by CQC.

Ashford is well situated in Kent with good transport connections to London. The fast train from Ashford International train station to St Pancreas Station is a journey in under 40 minutes. The unit is well situated just off Junction 10 of the M20 motorway, providing easy access for commuting. There is also a regular bus service to the hospital from the train station and neighboring towns.

The successful candidate will have either HCPC or an equivalent voluntary registration. You should have a background in Nuclear Medicine, preferably with experience of PET-CT, and be experienced in handling and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals. A high level of competency in cannulation is preferable.

A candidate with significant experience working as a Radiographer will also be considered, as training in PET-CT can be provided.

You should have a patient-focused attitude to ensure patient care is delivered to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. We are looking for a flexible, adaptable team player who has excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

You will undertake a competency programme in PET-CT to develop your knowledge and help you gain a full understanding of PET-CT. Training will be delivered “On the Job” and in collaboration with the Christie School of Oncology via the PET-CT training academy. You will also be required to IV cannulate patients as part of the role. Rest assured, should you not have any prior experience in IV cannulation, Alliance Medical will provide full training.

Experience:

  • Experience in PET-CT is an advantage
  • IV Cannulation Certificate preferred; training will be provided
  • Must be IT literate
  • Enhanced DBS clearance required
  • Flexibility to operate across multiple sites if required
  • CT experience desirable
