Job summary

Dacorum Borough Council is seeking a proactive Pest Control Officer to join its frontline housing and environmental health team in Hertfordshire. You will deliver pest control treatments and surveys for a wide range of commercial and domestic clients, supporting high-quality service delivery across the borough.

Experience in pest control is preferred, with a Level 3 pest management qualification encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience in pest control or willingness to develop in the field.
• Level 3 pest management qualification preferred; support to obtain.
• Valid UK driving licence required; work vehicle provided.
• A Standard DBS check will be undertaken.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Pest Control Officer to provide a high-quality frontline specialist service, delivering pest control treatments and surveys to a wide range of commercial and domestic customers across the borough.

Applicants with relevant pest control experience and a Level 3 pest management qualification are encouraged to apply. However, we also welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate suitable experience, skills and a genuine commitment to developing within the profession. Support will be provided for the successful candidate to work towards obtaining the Level 3 qualification where required.

You will need the ability to build strong and positive relationships with customers and colleagues, demonstrating tact, diplomacy and professionalism at all times. You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be self-motivated and organised, and have the drive to achieve service standards and performance targets.

Applicants must have a driving licence that is valid in the UK. A work vehicle is provided during working hours for operational duties; however, it cannot be used for commuting. Applicants must therefore have a reliable means of travelling to and from their normal place of work.

A Standard check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.
