Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Chef to join a hospital catering service in Perth, operating four shifts across a 30-hour week. The role involves preparing, cooking and serving meals including therapeutic options for patients, staff and visitors in a fast-paced environment.

You will work across shifts from early morning to late afternoon (6:00 AM–5:30 PM) on a 12-week assignment, paid £14.55 per hour. Prior professional kitchen experience, strong organisational skills and strict food safety

Qualifications

• 3 years of cooking experience, ideally in large-scale or high-volume catering.
• Certifications: SVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2, REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene.
• Solid knowledge of HACCP, COSHH and Manual Handling guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation and service following standard recipes and nutrition guidelines.
• Maintain high hygiene standards and comply with HACCP, COSHH and manual handling.
• Complete temperature logs, quality checks, and food safety documentation.
• Operate kitchen machinery safely and report equipment hazards, keep a clean station.
• Receive, check, store, and manage food stock and consumables.
