Prospero Teaching is seeking an English and Maths Tutor to join our flexible tutoring team in Halton. The role involves delivering individualised tuition in English and Mathematics to school-aged learners. Hours are 5-15 per week with a start date in October 2026 and an ongoing duration.

You will tailor lessons to learners’ needs, monitor progress, and support literacy, numeracy and problem solving. Desirable qualifications include QTS/PGCE or equivalent; strong subject knowledge and SEND

Qualifications

• QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification desirable.
• Strong subject knowledge in English and Mathematics.
• Experience teaching or tutoring school-aged learners.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional learning needs is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and a learner-centred approach.

Responsabilités

• Deliver individualised tuition in English and Mathematics.
• Strengthen literacy, numeracy, comprehension and problem-solving skills.
• Plan lessons around each learner’s needs, abilities and targets.
• Identify areas requiring additional support and provide targeted intervention.
• Engage learners who may have experienced disrupted education.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies where necessary.
