Job summary

Outwood Academy Kirkby seeks a PLC Coordinator to lead the Personalised Learning Centre and coordinate alternative courses for specific student cohorts. The role involves proactive multi-agency collaboration, mentoring, and removing barriers to learning within a supportive school environment.

You will identify cohorts, design and deliver targeted programmes, and guide pupils toward further education, apprenticeships, or employment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable students in a school setting.
• Excellent communication, time management, and ICT skills.
• Ability to develop programmes of work to build self-esteem and confidence.

Responsibilities

• Identify student cohorts for the alternative curriculum and deliver relevant courses to provide them with necessary qualifications.
• Engage in extensive external liaison as the single point of contact for specialist support services.
• Develop time-bound action plans with SMART targets to remove barriers to learning.
• Establish and maintain mentoring relationships with pupils.
• Undertake appropriate tests (e.g., Lucid) and support pupils towards further education, apprenticeships, or employment.
