Job summary

Job Title: Personal Development Tutor - Digital and Computing

Location: Huddersfield

Hours and Weeks per Year: 37 hours / 52 weeks

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality personal development tutorials through weekly group sessions.
  • Support an identified caseload of students and monitor progress, attendance and engagement.
  • Embed careers education, employability and work readiness into the tutorial programme; support students with work placement preparation and mandatory administration.
  • Help learners develop personal, social and study skills needed to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Work effectively with curriculum teams, pastoral services, SEND, careers and safeguarding staff.
  • Deliver workshops focused on health, wellbeing, equality, inclusion and British Values.
  • Contribute to enrichment activities and employer engagement.
  • Maintain accurate record‑keeping.
  • Commit to safeguarding and the College’s values.
Qualifications
  • PGCE, Certificate in Education or teaching qualification (willingness to work towards this within two years) and demonstrable experience working with 14‑19‑year‑old hard‑to‑reach students.
  • Ability to understand a range of student problems within an educational setting and demonstrate College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence.
