Job summary

Cheshire College South & West is seeking a Personal Development Tutor to deliver group tutorials, provide pastoral support, and help students develop resilience and employability. The role requires strong mentoring skills, sensitivity, and experience with 16–18 learners.

A Level 3 qualification, GCSE English/ Maths, and an enhanced DBS are required. The post includes annual leave and a DBS disclosure process.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification is required.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent.
• Proven personal tutor, advisor or mentor experience.
• Ability to deliver effective group tutorials, including sensitive topics.
• Experience delivering to groups of young people (16–18).
• Good knowledge of target setting and review methods.
• DBS check will be carried out.

Responsibilities

• Deliver group tutorial sessions and activities covering employability, British Values, Equality and Diversity, and PREVENT.
• Conduct a personal induction for students to build belonging and resilience.
• Refer students to specialist services when concerns arise with managers.
• Support learner participation through enrichment and learner voice activities.
• Support students with academic/personal progress and review targets.
• Monitor attendance concerns and address issues within systems.
