We are looking for a minimum of two female personal assistants (PA's) to support a happy, uncomplaining and relaxed, good-humoured, transgender woman for 10 x hour overnight waking shifts, Monday to Friday from 10pm - 8am. The aim is for this delightful lady to remain independent in her own home as she is living with a diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease (MND). If you have any work/life experience of this condition, that would be an advantage.
The role is to provide support for this woman using a hoist, with positional changes at night when needed, to assist with all aspects of Stellar Ventilator including support to put on or remove the mask, to respond to and be able to troubleshoot any alarms, to assist in an emergency should the lady become unwell and to support with a drink overnight where required. Full training will be provided for the successful applicants.
In addition, there is the option of 7 x 1 hour evening calls per week to assist with heating up an already prepared meal and support with feeding and hydration, personal care and mask management of the ventilator. This could be independent of the overnight shifts or combined with an earlier start time of 9pm.
This lady already has an established team of workers and is hoping to complement the existing team with equally wonderful PA's in much valued and appreciated roles.
The successful applicant will be sensitive, tolerant, open-minded, supportive and reliable.
