Job summary

TeacherActive Limited. is working with a supportive mainstream school in Derby to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant for full-time, five-day weeks. The role involves classroom and individual support, helping pupils with learning, and delivering personal care when required.

The ideal candidate will have a Level 2/3 TA qualification (desirable), previous SEND experience, and the ability to work respectfully with children and young people. 5 days per week availability is essential.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification desirable.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Experience or confidence providing personal care.
• Ability to work one-to-one and in small groups.
• Patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Availability to work five days per week.

Responsibilities

The school is looking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant for five days per week on a long-term basis, with the opportunity to become permanent. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will provide classroom and individual support, assist pupils with their learning and deliver personal care sensitively and respectfully when required.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• Experience or confidence providing personal care
• The ability to work effectively on a one-to-one and small-group basis
• A patient, caring and resilient approach
• Availability to work five days per week
