Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Oldham is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Assistant to support pupils with SEND at a specialist school within a multi-academy trust. Responsibilities

• Provide personal care support to pupils, including toileting, changing, feeding and hygiene routines, maintaining dignity.
• Support pupils with mobility needs, including safe moving and handling and the use of equipment.
• Promote independence, emotional regulation and positive routines throughout the school day.
• Support pupils during lunchtimes, breaks and classroom activities as needed.
• Follow individual care plans and EHCP targets, recording care accurately and communicating with the team.

Start Date: Monday 2 nd November
Contract Type: Part-time, Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £95 - £120 per day / Competitive (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

As part of our team, you will work closely with teachers, teaching assistants and the wider support team to meet pupils’ personal and physical care needs, helping them to feel safe, comfortable and ready to learn while building their independence and dignity.

About the role:

What We’re Looking For:

• Ideally, experience in a personal care role with children or young people (in a school, care or healthcare setting)
• Someone with a nurturing, patient and respectful approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility and resilience to meet the varying needs of pupils
• An understanding of Autism, SEND and complex or medical needs
• What would set you apart: a relevant care or TA qualification, or moving and handling training

To be eligible you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references
