UDirect Support seeks two Personal Assistants to support a 10-year-old boy in Carlisle on a 2:1 basis. The role focuses on comfort, daily routine, and meaningful activities such as arts and crafts, parks, soft play, and gardening.

The child has Autism, ODD and Picca; experience with children’s mental health and creating calm, structured environments is ideal. You will work closely with his family to support his wellbeing and development.

Qualificações

• Autism, ODD and Picca diagnosed for the child; understanding of children’s mental health is ideal.

Responsabilidades

• Provide comfort, kindness and help the child thrive in a stable routine.
• Assist with arts and crafts, soft play, parks, playgrounds, and gardening as appropriate.
• Support emotional regulation and consistent daily structure.
• Work closely with the family to implement care plans and monitor wellbeing.

My son has diagnosed Autism, ODD and Picca and we are looking for 2 people to support him. He enjoys arts and crafts, going to soft play, parks and playgrounds and also gardening.

He has been out of education since March 2026 and is struggling to regulate his emotions – he is constantly in flight or flight mode. He requires support from people who can provide him with comfort, kindness and help him thrive in a solid routine. We are currently starting on the pathway for a diagnosis for his mental health so an understanding of children’s mental health would be ideal
