Job summary

Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living is seeking a friendly Personal Assistant to support Mary in Glasgow Southside. The role involves 1.5 hours per week, with a flexible day, at £13.60 per hour, delivering person-centred assistance and companionship.

Mary has communication and mobility needs; the PA should be patient, reliable, a good listener, and comfortable around her small dog. Training on Persian cultural preferences will be provided as needed to ensure respectful, culturally-aware care.

Mary is a 65-year-old, well-educated woman living in Glasgow Southside. She is chatty, sociable and enjoys good humour, making her lovely company for someone who appreciates a friendly conversation. Mary is active and community minded, with regular involvement in church, meeting friends and attending local activities.

Mary has communication and mobility limitations and benefits from patient, consistent support and assistance. You will be required to support Mary with personal care needs in line with her cultural requests. Specifically, she is looking for someone who understands or is willing to learn about Persian culture and self-care routines. A gentle curiosity and respect for her background will help her to feel comfortable and understood.

The ideal candidate would be kind, patient and adaptable. They would also be someone who enjoys chatting and has a good sense of humour who can offer companionship as well as practical support. It is important that as Mary's Personal Assistant you are good listener who is reliable and can communicate clearly. Allowing you to build a good relationship with each other. Mary also has a small dog which you would need to be comfortable being around.

This role will be for 1.5 hours, 1 day per week, at £13.60 per hour. The specific day is flexible and will be discussed at interview.
