Job summary

Cornwall Council Together for Families is seeking a caring Personal Assistant to support a lively 12-year-old with Cerebral Palsy in the Newquay area. You will help him with daily routines, accompany him on social activities, and support his developing life skills.

The role includes weekend duties and some outdoor activities in all weather. A DBS check is required; administration is handled by Cornwall Council; CV will be passed to the family for consideration.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Personal Assistant or teaching assistant.
• Willingness to support a child with Cerebral Palsy.
• Commitment to safeguarding and DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Accompany the child on outdoor activities in all weather.
• Support the child at home, mainly weekends.

Personal Assistant for a young person with Cerebral Palsy

Are you an experienced PA or teaching assistant?

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Personal Assistant to support a fun-loving 12 year old with Cerebral Palsy in the Newquay area.

He can't wait to be taken on social activities with you and will love you helping him to build on life skills. He will enjoy trips to park as he loves to be outside and a swing.

He is always grabbing the limelight when out in public and will win you over with his infectious smile.

This role involves accompanying him on outdoor, all-weather activities but also to be supported in the home on occasions mostly at the weekend.

The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and will not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
