Job summary

Disability North is seeking a Female Personal Assistant to support a 19-year-old with autism, learning disabilities and mental health needs in the Chester area. The role covers 104 hours over four weeks at £13.00 per hour, with hours discussed at interview.

A driving licence is essential, and DBS and references are required. Key duties include helping with community access, encouraging independence, supporting daily living and medication, arranging appointments, and occasional overnight care

Qualifications

• Experience supporting autistic individuals and mental health needs.
• Compassionate, person-centred approach to promote independence.
• Must be able to drive and have DBS check and references.

Responsibilities

• Support access to the community and participation in interests.
• Promote mental health and emotional wellbeing.
• Encourage engagement in activities like art, music and walks.
• Assist with outings and graded exposure to longer distances.
• Encourage independence while ensuring safety and risk awareness.
• Help develop and maintain independent living skills.
• Support with and administer medication per guidelines.
• Arrange and assist with appointments (online/phone).
• Provide occasional overnight support (max 2 nights/month).
