Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Nottinghamshireto assist with the appointment of a Personal Advisor, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £14.58 - £19.04 per hour

Summary:

Personal Adviser is to support young people leaving the care system. This role involves managing complex cases and coordinating tailored services that empower care leavers to transition successfully into adulthood. The successful candidate will work as part of the Aftercare Service team under the Children, Families and Cultural Services department.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of vulnerable young people in accordance with the Children Act and local policies.
  • Assess needs and develop pathway plans, ensuring they reflect the current risks and goals.
  • Coordinate interagency strategies and services for diverse care leavers, including unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
  • Participate in statutory reviews, planning meetings, and safeguarding processes.
  • Undertake home and external visits as required, including during unsocial hours.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records using both manual and computerised systems.
  • Advocate for young people to access necessary services in education, housing, health, and employment.

Qualification:

  • Educated to minimum GCSE level C or above including Mathsand English.

Essentials:

  • Valid driving licence (unless precluded by disability).
  • In-depth knowledge of legislation including the Children Act 1989, 2004, Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000, and Children and Social Work Act 2017.
  • Experience working with diverse and vulnerable young people in a professional setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Proficient in IT systems and case management tools.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires a Basic DBS
