Pave Recruit Ltd is seeking a temporary Permitting Officer to manage permitting for reactive and planned maintenance works, ensuring compliance and timely applications.

You will monitor permits, challenge FPNs where appropriate, coordinate with stakeholders, raise applications as described, and keep Permit Trackers up to date while understanding highway maintenance impacts on stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Prior permitting experience.
• Good understanding of CPA or Street Manager.
• Understanding of NRSWA, TMA, and LoPs.
• Ability to respond to unplanned issues and reorganise plans.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Keen learner capable of handling a busy workload.

The role

Due to continued growth, the company is looking to on board a temporary Permitting Officer, where you will be charged with permitting all reactive and planned maintenance works, including schemes. Your key task will be comprised of:

• Managing day to day permit applications to ensure compliance across a range of measures
• Monitoring permits to prevent Fixed Penalty Notices
• Ensure any FPNs received are challenged where appropriate
• Managing stakeholder liaison for works where required
• Raising permit applications as per works descriptions
• Checking permit status and updating Permit Trackers
• Maintaining a thorough understanding of Highway Maintenance and associated activities and its impact on stakeholders

About you

Alongside broad knowledge and experience of Highways Permitting, you will be personable with effective communication skills and the ability to coordinate and collaborate with all teams within the organisation. Ideally you should tick most of the below:

• Prior permitting experience
• A good understanding of permitting systems such as CPA or Street Manager
• An understanding of NRSWA, TMA, and LoPs
• Capable of responding to unplanned inssues and able to react to replan and organise the plan of work
• An ability to give attention to detail and maintain accurate records
• Be a keen learner who can tackle new tasks and manage both a busy workload and their time well
