Job summary

The London Boroughs of Richmond Upon Thames and Wandsworth are seeking a Permit Officer to join the Parking Service. You will process applications for resident, visitor and business permits within agreed turnaround times, ensuring integrity of the scheme and accurate data entry.

The role requires adaptable, customer-focused professionals with experience in processing and data entry and strong communication skills across telephone, written and face-to-face contacts.

Job Title:Permit Officer

Salary Range: £30,225 – £42,888 per annum

Permanent – Fulltime (36 hours per week)

Location: Twickenham

Other essential information: Some home working may be offered on completion of training and subject to performance.

Are you looking for your next opportunity to be impactful in the lives of the local residence for both Richmond and Wandsworth Councils.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible member of staff who will be responsible for processing applications for the Permit Team in accordance with local Policies for both boroughs.

The post is based in the Parking Service, which is located in the Finance Directorate and is part of a team reporting directly to the Parking Permits Team Leader and Permits and Supported Travel Manager.

About the role

The London Boroughs of Richmond Upon Thames and Wandsworth present a unique opportunity to be part of a team who work together in a better service partnership across both boroughs.

You will provide assistance with processing an array of applications ranging from resident, visitor and business permits within agreed turnaround times, whilst protecting the integrity of the scheme.

Ideally you will display an adaptable attitude and should have experience of processing and data entry as well as experience of customer service in all forms of contact – telephone, writing and face to face.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Knowledge of parking permit schemes

Effective communication skills, both orally and written

Basic knowledge of and ability to use standard IT packages

The ability to demonstrate attention to detail

Ability to organize and priority own workload, within defined requirements for the role
