Job description

At CBRE, our people are the foundation of everything we do. As part of our Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) team dedicated to one of the world’s most innovative technology clients, you will play a pivotal role in keeping our workplaces safe, compliant, and operational.

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Permit Coordinator to manage the day-to-day operations of the Safe Permit System across high-profile client facilities. You will be the crucial bridge between corporate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards and on-the-ground operational execution, ensuring every contractor, vendor, and project team has a verified, systematic safe system of work before tools hit the ground.

If you thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments, take pride in operational rigor, and believe that exceptional safety goes hand-in-hand with outstanding customer service, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do
  • Review, validate, and authorise applications for Control of Work (CoW) permits, ensuring full alignment with statutory legislation, client guidelines, and landlord requirements.

  • Scrutinise contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) across both general maintenance and high-risk activities (hot works, work at height, electrical isolations, confined spaces).

  • Act as the primary, trusted point of contact for external vendors and internal facilities teams. Guide contractors through safe systems of work with a responsive, service-first mindset.

  • Deliver permitting briefings and inductions to partners and supply chain teams, championing an authentic, proactive safety culture.

  • Maintain accurate, real-time records across client and landlord permitting platforms; generate weekly/monthly compliance and KPI reports.

  • Participate in safety audits, identify opportunities to streamline workflows, and support broader EHS and facilities initiatives on site.

What We’re Looking For
  • Demonstrated experience working within an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or Facilities Management (FM) environment.

  • Sound knowledge of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Control of Work (CoW) processes.

  • Hands-on experience navigating digital permitting systems and facility management software.

  • Customer-centric communication skills, with the ability to explain technical safety requirements clearly and constructively.

  • Exceptional organisational habits with the autonomy to manage high ticket volumes across multi-building estates.

Desirable Extras:

  • Recognised Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH General Certificate).

  • 2+ years of experience within a corporate, mission-critical, or commercial office environment.

  • Basic understanding of building systems (M&E, HVAC, electrical distribution) or construction techniques.

  • Experience collaborating across international borders or multilingual working environments.
