Job summary

Hollingworth Learning Trust seeks a dedicated Childrens Welfare Officer and Designated Safeguarding Lead for Lowerplace Primary Academy. The post focuses on safeguarding, leading on child protection, and managing caseloads within a dynamic school setting.

The role requires strong multi-disciplinary experience and the ability to engage families to improve welfare outcomes; permanent position, term time plus two weeks, 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Strong background in child protection and multi-disciplinary work with children and families.
• Good understanding of legal frameworks relating to safeguarding, attendance and SEND.
• Ability to form and sustain positive relationships with families to address problems affecting welfare.

Responsibilities

• Lead in the protection of children from abuse and manage welfare caseloads.
• Represent the school at Child Protection Conferences and coordinate safeguarding activity.
• Plan and implement targeted intervention programmes for children and families.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, liaising with external agencies as required.
