Job summary

Sika AG is seeking a Process Manufacturing Operative for a permanent role in a busy Preston production site. You will operate plant and equipment, follow SOPs, perform routine quality checks and maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety.

The role requires reliability, practical mindset, and the ability to work well within a structured manufacturing environment. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, production or industrial environment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with high attention to detail.
• Good numeracy, literacy and record-keeping skills.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to plan, prioritise workload and multitask.
• Willingness to work shifts and perform manual handling.
• Experience operating process plant or production equipment.
• Forklift or site-based training certificates.
• Experience with GMP/ISO or regulated manufacturing standards.
• Basic understanding of lean manufacturing, 5S or continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Operate process manufacturing equipment safely and follow site procedures.
• Follow SOPs, work instructions, risk assessments and quality requirements.
• Weigh, load, mix, process, pack, label or transfer materials per production schedule.
• Carry out routine quality checks and record results.
• Monitor process conditions and report faults or safety concerns.
• Complete production paperwork and electronic records accurately.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S in the production area.
• Support line changeovers, cleaning, and handovers between shifts.
• Collaborate across production, quality, maintenance and warehouse teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency and waste reduction.
