Job summary

Kingdom Services Group is hiring a Security Officer for Drax Power Station in Selby. The role involves operating gatehouses, CCTV control rooms and conducting regular patrols to protect personnel, visitors, equipment and assets while delivering high standards of customer service.

The position offers a permanent contract, full training, and clear progression opportunities. Shifts are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with rotating times (06:00-14:00 and 10:00-18:00).

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Own transport due to site location.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good IT and report-writing skills.
• Previous experience in security, gatehouse operations and access control.
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Flexible approach to working patterns and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operating gatehouses, weighbridge facilities and CCTV control rooms.
• Carrying out regular foot and vehicle patrols across the site and perimeter.
• Monitoring premises, personnel and visitors to maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Controlling access and egress of vehicles and individuals entering the site.
• Carrying out vehicle searches and security screening procedures where required.
• Responding to incidents, alarms and emergency situations.
• Completing accurate incident reports, logs and security documentation.
• Monitoring CCTV systems and reporting suspicious activity.
• Ensuring compliance with site-specific health, safety and security procedures.
• Providing professional customer service to staff, contractors and visitors at all times.
