Job summary

Inspiring Music is recruiting experienced peripatetic percussion tutors to deliver drumkit and other percussion lessons across Central Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes. This self-employed role offers flexible start dates in October/November 2026 and a pay rate of £36.77 per hour.

Tutors will work in schools and community settings, tailoring lessons to pupils of varying abilities and coordinating with the Milton Keynes Music Co-operative and Central Bedfordshire Council.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring peripatetic instrumental lessons.
• Commitment and enthusiasm for teaching percussion.
• Ability to work across Central Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes.

Responsibilities

• Provide percussion tuition in drumkit and percussion across schools and settings.
• Plan lessons and monitor pupil progress.

About Inspiring Music

As the Music Service for Central Bedfordshire and lead partner for the BLMK Music Hub, we aim to provide a full range of instrumental and vocal opportunities for students and create an inclusive environment that encourages everyone to enjoy music and flourish.

We offer music lessons for children in schools, musical activities after school and at the weekend where the entire family can join in. We also teach whole class workshops in schools and organise instrumental events and larger concerts in professional venues to give children the opportunity to showcase their learning in front of an audience.
