Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status and/or Qualified Teacher of the Deaf status, with willingness to undertake funded training.
  • Experience with children and young people with special educational needs.
  • Ability to work across multiple settings and travel within the council area.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an individual caseload of deaf children/young people and provide specialist teaching and support.
  • Plan and deliver specialist training to staff on deafness implications in education settings.
  • Collaborate with families, schools, audiology clinics, SLTs and SEND services to inform decisions.
  • Develop policies in the Sensory Impairment Team and maintain up-to-date records and EHCPs.
