Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Health Care Assistant to support the perioperative team across theatres. You will help prepare, transport and position patients, maintain sterile environments and assist with equipment and supplies, under supervision.

You will contribute to infection control, patient dignity and safety, working closely with senior nurses and theatre staff to ensure smooth operating department workflows daily.

Qualifications

• Sufficient healthcare experience in a hospital setting.
• Able to work as part of a theatre team and follow instructions.
• Comfortable with manual handling and moving patients.
• Computer literate and able to use basic record systems.

Responsibilities

• Transport conscious and unconscious patients between acute care areas.
• Assist with cleaning, preparing and positioning theatre equipment.
• Support with entering timely patient notes and care plans.
• Maintain stock levels and ensure hygiene in theatres.
