Job summary

Theatres team at St Mary's Hospital, Newport, within the Isle of Wight NHS Trust, is seeking experienced perioperative practitioners for recovery, scrub and anaesthesia roles.

This full-time post covers evenings, weekends, nights and on-call duties across the perioperative pathway, with a focus on patient safety, leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration. The Trust supports ongoing education and development for staff.

Qualifications

• Post-basic qualification in perioperative care.
• Registration with NMC or HCPC required.
• Experience in scrub, anaesthetics or recovery.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe passage of every patient through the perioperative journey.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual patient care.
• Provide clinical leadership in the theatre department with the senior theatre team.
• Maintain a safe environment and patient dignity throughout the perioperative pathway.
• Work across theatres, including weekends, on-call and night shifts.
