Job summary

Isle of Wight NHS Trust in Newport is seeking a Theatre Practitioner (ODP, Recovery or Scrub) to join our perioperative team at St Mary’s Hospital. You will work within a multi-disciplinary theatre unit, registered with the NMC or HCPC, and provide safe, compassionate care across elective and emergency surgery.

The post is full time with a flexible shift pattern including evenings, weekends and on‑calls. You will contribute to education and development initiatives and support a 24/7 service

Qualifications

• Registered with the NMC or HCPC.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Flexible to work across perioperative disciplines (Scrub/Recovery/ODP).

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual patient care.
• Maintain a safe perioperative environment and infection control standards.
• Provide leadership within the Theatre department and support handovers.
• Contribute to a high standard of patient care across elective and emergency surgery.
• Support anaesthetic, scrub, recovery and maternity/outpatient services as required.
