Job summary

Spire Washington Hospital is seeking an experienced Anaesthetics & Recovery Practitioner to join the theatre team as a Perioperative Practitioner - Orthopaedic Scrub on a permanent basis. The role will focus on scrub duties for Consultant-led surgeries, predominantly orthopaedics, with opportunities in other specialties.

You will assess patients, develop perioperative care plans and contribute to delivering high-quality surgical services in a private healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Qualified ODP/Scrub Nurse
• Registered with NMC or HCPC with no pin restrictions
• Orthopaedic scrub experience essential
• At least 2 years scrub experience
• Experience in a surgical/theatre setting

Responsibilities

• Assist in scrubbing for Consultant-led surgeries across orthopaedics and other specialties
• Assess patients and support perioperative care planning
• Develop care plans considering perioperative risks and patient wellbeing

Perioperative Practitioner - Orthopaedic Scrub

Spire Washington Hospital are looking for an experienced Anaesthetics & Recovery Practitioner to join their theatre team on a permanent basis. The role will provide excellent care and require the post holder to participate and contribute to proving services within the Theatre Unit.

Spire Washington is a 35 in-patient bedded hospital with 10 consultation and 2 treatment rooms based just off junction 63 of the A1 with great commuter links. Our Hospital offers a range of services and facilities including four operating theatres covering specialities including Orthopaedics and Gynaecology and a full Diagnostic suite

Duties and responsibilities

• Assist in scrubbing for Consultant led surgeries that vary in complexity and specialism, mainly orthopaedics, but can include cosmetics, gynae and ENT to name a few.
• You will assess patient’s health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload.
• Develop care plans that are appropriate to the patient, taking into consideration the care pathway, perioperative risks and their wellbeing.

Who we're looking for

• Qualified ODP/Scrub Nurse
• NMC or HCPC registered with no restrictions on your pin
• Orthopaedic experience is essential
• At least 2 years scrub experience
• Have been employed in a surgical/Theatre setting
• You will be highly motivated and used to working in challenging but rewarding environment

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week across Monday - Saturday
Contract Type: Permanent
