Job summary

The Sloane Hospital in Kent, part of Circle Health Group, is recruiting a Lead Theatre Practitioner to join the Theatres department. This full-time role (37.5 hours) requires a flexible shift pattern and strong leadership in perioperative care.

You will mentor staff, uphold patient safety standards, and contribute to clinical governance and teaching. Applicants should be NMC/HCPC registered with theatre experience, plus qualifications such as Surgical First Assistant, ILS, and relevant

Qualifications

• NMC or HCPC registered practitioner with theatre experience.
• Clinical leadership experience and role-modeling ability.
• Understanding of patient safety, safeguarding, and infection control.
• Surgical First Assistant qualification and ILS or mentoring course.
• Experience leading audits, improvement projects or teaching.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of high-quality perioperative care and act as a lead within the team.
• Ensure patient safety checks and WHO surgical safety processes are followed.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision for theatre staff.
• Mentor and assess competencies within the team and support CPD.
• Lead audits, service improvements and clinical teaching as needed.
• Support development of junior staff and students in the department.
