Job summary

Bidvane is seeking a Staff Nurse to join Ashford Hospital's Day Surgery Unit, ward, day theatres and recovery team. The role covers perioperative care from admission to discharge with rotations across the perioperative department.

You will support junior staff, monitor patients, and contribute to research and audits while maintaining high theatre and ward standards. NMC registration and hospital/surgical experience are required.

Qualifications

• NMC registration is required.
• Experience in a hospital setting is required.
• Surgical experience is preferred and will be discussed at interview.
• Competence in current emergency resuscitation techniques (theory and practice).
• Good written and verbal communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient and cost-effective care from admission through to discharge.
• Deliver skilled practical care and plan, monitor and provide individualised patient care; support junior staff.
• Provide specialist support and knowledge to patients in Day Surgery Unit and surrounding areas.
• Rotate through perioperative areas and other specialties to develop competencies.
• Communicate effectively with staff, patients and relatives; consider impairments and language barriers.
• Maintain competence in emergency resuscitation; keep up to date with equipment and procedures.
• Follow local policies, guidelines and infection control practices; report incidents to management.
