Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Heywood is seeking a motivated Performing Arts Teacher to cover a maternity leave from January, teaching KS3 and KS4 and delivering engaging, creative lessons that develop performance skills.

You will plan, assess progress, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to departmental life with a well-resourced Performing Arts team in a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• QTS is required or in progress.
• Experience teaching Performing Arts in UK secondary schools or placements is preferred.
• ECTs or new teachers welcome to apply.

Job description

We're working with a friendly and supportive secondary school in Heywood that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Performing Arts Teacher to join their team from January to cover a maternity leave.

You'll be teaching Performing Arts across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop their performance skills while encouraging creativity, teamwork, and self-expression in a positive learning environment.

• Full-time maternity cover starting in January.
• Teaching Performing Arts across KS3 and KS4.
• Planning and delivering creative, engaging lessons.
• Assessing student progress and providing meaningful feedback.
• Supporting students in developing confidence and a passion for the performing arts.
• Contributing to the wider life of the department and school where appropriate.

• Holds QTS or is due to achieve Qualified Teacher Status.
• Is open to both experienced teachers and ECTs.
• Has experience teaching Performing Arts within UK secondary schools or through teaching placements.
• Has strong classroom management skills and a positive, proactive approach.
• Is passionate about helping students achieve their potential both in and out of the classroom.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
