Job summary

BaxterStorey UK is seeking a senior chef to lead high‑performance catering for an elite sports academy. You will design recovery‑focused menus, translate nutrition guidance into dishes, and tailor meals to athletes' needs.

You will oversee the training ground restaurant, collaborate with medical and nutrition teams, develop staff, and ensure top hygiene and food standards across operations.

Qualifications

• Experience as a high-performance chef in sport or similar high-pressure environments.
• Strong knowledge of performance nutrition and translating guidance into meals.
• Tailored athlete meal planning experience.
• Relevant catering qualifications and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver performance- and recovery-focused menus aligned to training cycles and match demands.
• Communicate nutritional breakdown and purpose behind dishes to nutritionists.
• Tailor meals to dietary needs, allergies and performance goals.
• Lead food provision across the training ground restaurant with high standards.
• Collaborate with medical, nutrition and performance staff on nutrition strategy.
• Enhance dining experience and environment to support player needs.
• Create globally inspired dishes for a multinational squad.
• Manage kitchen operations, hygiene, safety and food standards.
• Lead, develop and upskill kitchen staff.
• Control stock, ordering and budgets; manage seasonality with sustainability in mind.
• Deliver education sessions on cooking, nutrition and food hygiene.
• Travel with the Academy teams for domestic and international fixtures.
