Performance & Continuous Improvement Analyst

Permanent

36.25 hrs per week (Monday to Friday)

£40,444.00 - £44,253.00

Location: The postholder will work in a hybrid manner, typically from Fire Service Headquarters and from home, with some travel around Greater Manchester as the role requires.

Note: Fire Service Headquarters is currently located in Swinton at 146 Bolton Rd, Swinton, Pendlebury, Manchester (M27 8US) and will move to Thompson Street, Manchester (M4 5FP) in early 2027.

About the role

We’re looking for a Performance & Continuous Improvement Analyst to join our Corporate Strategy, Governance & Performance Team.

This is a varied role that combines performance analysis, reporting and data visualisation with practical continuous improvement support. You’ll work with colleagues across GMFRS to understand performance, identify opportunities for improvement and help turn complex information into meaningful insight that supports decision-making at all levels of the organisation.

About you

We are looking for a confident, self-motivated individual who can support effective performance management and continuous improvement across the Service. You will be a proactive professional who can build excellent working relationships and work effectively in a fast-moving environment where collaboration and sound judgement matter.

You will have excellent analytical and interpretative skills, with the ability to generate meaningful insight, communicate information clearly to different audiences and use evidence to support decision-making and improvement activity. You will also have experience of using data visualisation tools, such as Power BI, to interpret and present performance information in a clear and accessible way. Experience of developing dashboards and reports would be advantageous.

You will be confident working with a range of stakeholders, able to build effective working relationships and comfortable providing constructive challenge in a collaborative and pragmatic way.

With experience of performance management processes, improvement methodologies and working cross-functionally, the ideal candidate will have the confidence to provide constructive challenge and support colleagues to take ownership of agreed actions.

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. Experience of working in a public sector, partnership or similarly complex environment would be desirable.
