Job summary

DCV Technologies is seeking a Performance Architect for a client in the UK postal and courier sector. The role is hybrid with three days onsite in London and a 12-month assignment.

You will define end-to-end performance strategy, develop sizing models, validate NFRs, and guide architecture decisions across applications, databases, cloud, and infrastructure to ensure scalable, resilient platforms.

Requirements
  • Extensive experience in performance architecture, performance engineering, and system optimization.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and distributed system design.
  • Expertise in defining and managing non-functional requirements (NFRs).
  • Experience creating sizing models, capacity planning strategies, and workload forecasting approaches.
  • Deep knowledge of application, database, middleware, cloud, and infrastructure performance tuning.
  • Proven ability to conduct end-to-end performance assessments and bottleneck analysis.
  • Experience with performance testing methodologies and industry-standard monitoring tools.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, working with CTOs, enterprise architects, and senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and large-scale distributed platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making capabilities.
Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, and resolve performance bottlenecks across application, database, integration, infrastructure, and cloud layers.
  • Provide architecture recommendations to optimize system throughput, resilience, and resource utilization.
  • Lead performance assessments during solution design, development, testing, and production readiness reviews.
  • Define performance engineering standards, frameworks, tools, and governance processes across delivery teams.
  • Drive performance risk management activities and recommend mitigation strategies for critical business systems.
  • Mentor engineering and architecture teams on performance engineering best practices and emerging industry trends.
