Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking an Instrumental Music Instructor (Percussion) to provide high‑quality percussion teaching across primary and secondary schools in Edinburgh. The role is 0.66FTE, three days per week, and involves working within our dynamic music service to deliver engaging learning experiences for pupils.

Applicants should have robust instrumental teaching experience, familiarity with the current curriculum, and the ability to prepare students for SQA and external exams.

Qualifications

• Experience in instrumental teaching at primary/secondary level.
• Knowledge of the Scottish curriculum and preparation for SQA/external exams.
• Ability to work with groups and ensembles in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver percussion lessons across multiple schools in Edinburgh.
• Support pupils in ensemble work and performance preparation.
