Job summary

Brown University Health’s Newport Hospital seeks a skilled echocardiography technologist to perform and interpret ultrasonic heart evaluations, including M-mode, 2D, and Doppler studies. You will explain procedures to patients and ensure safety and comfort per established standards.

The role supports cardiology fellows, participates in research data collection, and upholds quality assurance and infection control practices in a hospital setting. Per diem day shifts are available.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CAAEP accredited ultrasound program.
• Eligible to sit for ARDMS exam.

Responsibilities

• Performs M-mode and two-dimensional echocardiography, Doppler echocardiography (pulsed, cw, color flow, exercise and contrast).
• Follows imaging protocols per CVI procedure manual.
• Explains echocardiographic procedures to patients and ensures safety and comfort.
• Assists in teaching cardiology fellows in the above techniques.
• Adjusts schedules to accommodate patients.
• Participates in data collection and analysis of physician-conducted research.
• Maintains quality assurance, safety and infection control per department policies.
• Performs other related duties with age-specific patient considerations.
