Job summary

Elite Personnel is recruiting for an experienced People Partner in Birmingham to support managers across the full employee lifecycle. You’ll provide expert advice on employee relations, drive people initiatives and help create a positive workplace culture.

You’ll partner with the People Team and HR colleagues, delivering guidance on complex people matters, supporting organisational objectives and continuous improvement with an emphasis on policy development and change management.

Elite Personnel is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected organisation based in Birmingham for an experienced People Partner.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive HR professional to join a collaborative People team where you'll play a key role in supporting managers across the full employee lifecycle. You'll provide expert advice on employee relations, drive people initiatives, contribute to strategic projects, and help create a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

The Role

As People Partner, you'll work closely with the People Team Manager and wider HR team to deliver a professional, solutions-focused HR service. You'll partner with managers across the organisation, providing practical guidance on complex people matters while supporting organisational objectives and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and coaching to managers on a wide range of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and organisational change.
• Manage a varied employee relations caseload, ensuring cases are handled fairly, consistently and in line with employment legislation.
• Develop, review and implement HR policies and procedures to reflect best practice and legislative changes.
• Support managers with attendance management, including long-term sickness cases and occupational health referrals.
• Produce and analyse HR metrics and reports to support business decisions and identify trends.
• Coordinate employee wellbeing initiatives and contribute to engagement activities.
• Conduct exit interviews, analyse feedback and identify opportunities to improve employee retention.
• Assist with recruitment activities when required.
• Deliver training sessions, workshops and induction programmes for managers and employees.
• Support strategic HR projects and contribute to the ongoing development of the People function.

About You

We're looking for an experienced HR generalist who enjoys building strong relationships and providing commercially focused HR support.

• CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience).
• Significant experience in a generalist HR or People Advisor/Partner role.
• Strong employee relations knowledge with experience managing complex casework.
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Experience developing HR policies and supporting organisational change.
• Excellent coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting HR data and producing reports.
• Confident presentation and training delivery skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• A collaborative approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
