Job summary

McDonald’s is seeking a People Manager to lead the people initiatives across restaurants, shaping workplace culture and embedding leading-edge people systems to enhance the employee experience. The role requires shift availability across weekdays and weekends, including early mornings, afternoons and evenings.

This role requires availability to work shifts across various days and times. To meet the criteria for this role, you will be required to be available to work within Weekdays and Weekends, working shifts across Early Mornings, Afternoons & Evenings. Your role will be operational with the ability to analyse information to inform actions to support the People Metric. As part of the wider operations team, you will lead on the people initiatives of the business. Your customers will range from staff in the restaurants, Business Managers, Consultants to outside contacts like recruitment sources, schools & colleges. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage workforce planning and recruitment, including ATS oversight and external campaign partnerships
  • Implement people systems such as onboarding, performance reviews, and training across restaurants
  • Lead people development strategies and foster a culture of wellbeing and engagement
  • Use listening strategies and data insights to inform strategic reporting and drive people-focused initiatives
  • Monitor trends and ensure compliance with employment law and internal policies (e.g. Absence, Discipline, Right to Work, Working Time Regulations, GDPR)
  • Respond to people queries with up-to-date legislative knowledge, using initiative and problem-solving in daily interactions
  • Lead by example in promoting a positive and inclusive workplace
  • Act with integrity and professionalism, take ownership of your personal development, attend and host meetings, conduct investigations and disciplinary processes, and support with ad hoc tasks as required This position is open to people who have experience of managing people matrix while leading teams within the retail, hospitality, business or a customer focused environment.
