Job summary

Hilton Food Group is seeking a People and Culture Advisor to be the first point of contact for People & Culture and the wider business in Huntingdon. You will advise managers on ER matters, support onboarding, manage absence records, and help update HR policies. Strong MS Office skills and CIPD-friendly qualifications are preferred.

The role offers permanent, on-site employment with opportunities to contribute to employee engagement and cross-functional HR projects across the site.

Qualifications

  • Ideally CIPD level 3 qualified or studying toward CIPD level 3.
  • Experience handling employee relations cases, from simple to complex.
  • Ability to build rapport and service at all levels of colleagues.
  • Proficient with MS Excel and general MS Office
  • Highly organized with ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Experience with Time and Attendance systems and HRIS platforms would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of another European language is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a customer-focused People & Culture advisory service for the employee lifecycle.
  • Advise managers on People & Culture policies, ER cases, probation and performance management.
  • Monitor ER caseloads and trends; suggest solutions and actions.
  • Update internal People & Culture policies and communicate changes.
  • Manage absence records, chair welfare meetings, and coordinate OH referrals.
  • Provide admin support: contracts, e-filing, emails, inbox management.
  • Support onboarding and new starter processes, including job offers and contracts.
  • Maintain accurate records using TMS/e-files, and update KPI data.
  • Attend factory daily review meetings as required.
  • Coordinate and deliver employee engagement activities and surveys.

Role: People and Culture Advisor Salary: Competitive Location: Huntingdon Type: Permanent

Aboutthe role:

We are looking for an experienced People and Culture Advisor to act as the first point of contact between People & Culture and the wider business, providing advice and guidance, partnering managers with operational People & Culture support including employee relations and employment law advice. To support the People & Culture Business Partner in the implementation of the ongoing People & Culture Strategy.

As aPeople and Culture Advisor some of the responsibilities will be to:
  • Provide a customer focused People & Culture advisory service which supports and guides all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
  • Provide advice and guidance to all managers on a range of People & Culture policies, procedures and People & Culture related issues (including ER cases, probations, performance management etc
  • Provide regular updates to the People & Culture Business Partner on ER case loads and trends, with proposed solutions and actions.
  • Review and update internal People & Culture policies and communicate when required to the wider business
  • Absence management – Daily updating and monitoring of absence records, managing long term and short-term absences, chairing welfare meetings and coordinating Occupational Health referrals with the welfare meetings.
  • Providing general People & Culture administrative support – processing contractual changes, e-filing, responding to enquiry emails, maintaining the People & Culture inbox together with the People & Culture Co-ordinator
  • Support the People & Culture Co-ordinator in the management of all family/friendly policies
  • Support as needed, with the onboarding process such as introduction of new starters, preparation of relevant correspondence including job offers, issuing of new starter packs, processing employment contracts and setting up on internal database
  • Maintain accurate records using TMS and e-files
  • Providing and updating weekly KPI information
  • Attendance at factory daily review meetings as required.
  • Coordinate and deliver employee engagement activities – reward and recognition, employee forums, employee surveys, internal communication systems (internal app)
  • Supporting new and on-going People & Culture Projects as agreed
To succeed as a People and Culture Advisor, we ask that you have thefollowing experience/expertise:
  • Ideally qualified, or studying towards CIPD level 3, along with People & Culture administration/advisory experience
  • Experience of dealing with a multitude of ER cases, from day to day to complex
  • Ability to build rapport and service at all levels of colleagues (from factory floor to senior stake holders), providing an excellent customer service experience
  • Computer literate including MS Office packages, in particular Excel. Intermediate Excel experience would be an advantage
  • Extremely organised attitude with the ability to deal with ever changing priorities
  • Experience with Time and Attendance and HRIS platforms would be an advantage
  • Any other European language other than English would be desirable
