Job summary

GTI seeks a People and HR Advisor to partner with the business in Wallingford, delivering operational and people plans within a hybrid work framework.

The role covers HR data reporting, policy development, employee relations support, and HR project participation, with emphasis on confidentiality and stakeholder communication. 37.5 hours/week, 3-month probation, background screening.

Qualifications

  • Proven HR administration experience.
  • Previous generalist HR experience.
  • Experience with HR platforms.
  • Good knowledge of employment law.
  • Knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
  • Experience producing accurate data reporting (pivot tables, graphs) and presenting findings via PowerPoint.

People and HR Advisor

Department: People and HR

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Wallingford, UK - Hybrid

Description

Partner with the business to support the delivery of our operational and people plans.

Outcomes

GTI is supported in all aspects of People and HR.

  • Provide advice, guidance, and support to management on best practice when dealing with employee relation issues.
  • Support the Head of People and HR on more complex employee relation issues.
  • Assist with the development of people policies and procedures and identify ways to make improvements.
  • Take an active part in HR projects.
  • Be ready for any unplanned events.

The HR and People team is recognised as a valued function within the business.

  • Support in continuing to create a channel of communication and information flow to understand requirements from the business.
  • Proactively respond to requests in a timely manner and escallate where necessary to the Head of People and HR
  • Provide support and assist with third party relationships - Recruitment Agencies, Benefit providers, Facilities Management

Performance and engagement data is accurately managed, reported, and translated into actionable business insights.

  • Own the end-to-end management of data and reporting for quarterly performance review and company engagement survey processes.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and timely completion across all performance and survey cycles.
  • Produce and maintain meaningful dashboards, metrics, and reports to track participation, outcomes, trends, and organisational performance.
  • Analyse performance and engagement data to identify key themes, risks, opportunities, and workforce trends.
  • Present clear insights and recommendations to the Head of People and HR to support informed decision-making and develop actions that improve employee performance, engagement, and retention.
  • Continuously improve reporting processes, data quality, and analytics capabilities to enhance the value of people insights across the business.

HR processes and procedures are effective, efficient, and adopted by all.

  • Support the full employee lifecycle from the initial hiring stage to offboarding.
  • Ensure a successful hiring and onboarding journey for all new starters.
  • Create and continuously maintain people records.
  • Ensure background screening is completed for all new starters and current team members.
  • Manage EOR team members and contractors
  • Produce up to date documentation which complies with current legislation.
  • Support in the accurate processing of pay and benefits.
  • Drive process improvement and automation initiatives across HR processes, leveraging technology to create a seamless user journey, improve adoption, and deliver a more efficient and scalable people experience.

HR Platforms are regularly maintained, accurate and continuously developed.

  • Promote the HRIS, ATS and LMS internally.
  • Ensure the HR platform is current and up to date.
  • Be innovative in creating a better user journey.
  • Continue to champion the GTI culture and values through the platforms.

Office locations are a safe and dynamic environment.

  • Ensure Health and Safety procedures and risk assessments are accurate and up to date.
  • Manage facilities management for the office locations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with landlords, facilities management, and other parties.
  • Promote a positive office culture and experience.

All company events and socials are successfully organised and delivered.

  • Support with the twice-yearly retreats
  • Support local office events.
Person Specification

Someone with a confident and professional manner with the ability to communicate at all levels and maintain confidentiality at all times. A person who is self-motivated, proactive and takes ownership.

Work Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • Proven HR administration experience
  • Previous generalist HR experience
  • Previous experience of HR platforms
  • Good knowledge of employment law
  • Good knowledge of HR policies and procedures
  • Proven experience of producing accurate data reporting including pivot tables, graphs etc, and being able to use this data to provide meaningful insights with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively through PowerPoint presentations
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to work using own initiative and be able to prioritise
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Advanced user of IT applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience of dealing with confidential information
  • Experience of taking notes/minutes at meetings
  • Previous experience of payroll systems/processes
Other Information
  • Permanent role – 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday 9am-5:30pm.
  • 3-month probationary period.
