Job summary

East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust is seeking a People Advisor to join the People Team and drive effective employee relations and HR processes across the region.

You will support managers, implement policies, and ensure compliance with employment law while delivering a proactive, customer-focused service. The role is hybrid, with regular site attendance and travel as required, and offers NHS benefits including generous leave and pension.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 (or studying towards/equivalent experience).
• Proven track record in an operational people directorate environment.
• Operational People Advisor experience in recruitment, discipline, grievance, absence management, equality and diversity in a complex setting.
• Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation.
• Experience advising managers on complex ER issues.
• Experience working with trade unions/representatives.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience developing and/or updating policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of wider NHS initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive People service to managers and employees.
• Advise management on people issues ensuring compliance with employment law.
• Lead on developing and implementing policies and procedures.
• Drive and manage HR projects and improvements.
• Travel around the region and adapt to flexible working patterns.
• Support and coach Trade Union colleagues.
• Build strong relationships across the Trust to support organisational goals.
